Flexible Spending Account

A flexible spending account is set up with pre-tax dollars and used to pay for child care expenses. Rather than getting a credit for a certain amount of your child care expenses, you (or your spouse if you are married and filing jointly) can arrange to have money withheld from you paycheck by your employer. The dollar amounts are deducted from your pay pre-tax.
