We value the confidence you have placed in us and are committed to ensuring that the client information we maintain about you is safeguarded.

This Privacy Notice ("Notice") explains how Ameriprise Advisor Services, Inc. collects, shares and protects your personal information. This Notice also gives you valuable information on the choices you have about how we use your personal information. Please read this Notice carefully to understand what we do. Any privacy choices you previously made when our firm was called H&R Block Financial Advisors will remain in effect until revoked by you.

How we protect your personal information
We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know the information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information.

How and why we collect personal information
You provide personal information to us so that we may help you meet your financial goals. Such information allows us to process your requests and transactions, keep you apprised of products and services that may be of interest to you and enhance customer service by better understanding your needs.

• Information you provide to us on applications or other forms (such as name, address, social security number, assets and income).
• Information about your transactions with us, our Affiliates or others (such as your account balance, payment and account history, parties to transactions, health care information, and use of products and services).
• Information collected from your browser when you visit our websites and your browser interacts with them.
• Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies (such as your creditworthiness and credit history).

Sharing information within the Ameriprise Financial, Inc. family of companies
In an effort to better serve your financial needs and to inform you about the products and services we offer, we may share personal information, such as the information described above, with our Affiliates. We do not share health information relating to your physical or mental health or the provision of health care to you with our Affiliates.

You may limit marketing from our Affiliates based on the sharing of your personal information among Affiliates. Our Affiliates include companies that provide advisory, broker-dealer, insurance, banking and asset management products and services. Ameriprise Advisor Services, Inc. may disclose certain information to Affiliates in order to service your accounts and to develop and send you offers for their products and services. Your choice will be applied to all of your Ameriprise Advisor Services, Inc. accounts.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows you the opportunity to limit the sharing of "nonexperience" information within the Ameriprise family of companies. Such information includes information that is used, expected to be used or collected for the purpose of establishing your eligibility for consumer credit (e.g., margin privileges), insurance and related products and services, and is not related solely to your transactions or other communications with us. If you would prefer that we not share nonexperience information within the Ameriprise family of companies, call us at 1-866-701-6245. Your choice will be applied to all of your Ameriprise Advisor Services, Inc. accounts.

Sharing information outside the Ameriprise Financial, Inc. family of companies
We may share your personal information with outside companies and other third parties in limited circumstances:

• To help us process transactions for your account;
• To service your account or perform other business functions on our behalf, such as mail and print services;
• When disclosure is required or permitted by law. For example, we may be required to disclose personal information to cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities, to resolve client disputes and to perform credit checks and authentication procedures to prevent fraud, and
• When we enter into a joint marketing agreement with another financial institution to provide financial products and services that we believe may be of benefit to you.

When we share personal information with outside companies or third parties, we require them to safeguard this information and only use it for the agreed-upon purpose. We do not share personal information, except as described in this section, with outside companies so they can market their products and services directly to you. However, we may use personal information to send you marketing offers on behalf of selected outside companies for products that they sell. If you respond to one of these offers, the other company will know certain information about you, such as your name, that you are our client and that you met the qualifications established for the offer. Additional State Opt-Out Information
If any of your accounts with us has a Vermont mailing address, we will automatically treat your accounts as if you chose all of the opt-outs in this Notice. Also, we will not obtain consumer reports about you without your consent.

If any of your accounts with us has a New Mexico mailing address, we will automatically opt you out of marketing offers from us on behalf of outside companies.

Former Clients
If you close an account, your account becomes inactive or you are no longer a client, we will continue to treat and safeguard your information as described in this notice.

Online Security
Ameriprise Advisor Services, Inc. maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards per the financial industry standards to protect our clients' personal information.

We protect your account and personal information by:

• Placing your account and personal information on secure pages of our web site;
• Using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to prevent unauthorized individuals from viewing any non-public personal information that you may provide or view during a session on the secure pages of our web site;
• Requiring you to use a username and password to access your account and personal information, and
• Using industry accepted security technology to protect our systems from unauthorized access or attacks.
