What's included in the $70 price?
Federal tax return preparation
One state tax return preparation
Federal e-file*
State e-file*
Random tax facts you can't live without
Unlimited customer support, including tax advice
Storage of your tax return for 3 years
Worry-free Audit Support® for customers who e-file
A large helping of tax mojo

* While you may always attempt to e-file, the IRS and state departments of revenue have stringent e-file requirements. We'll tell you if we think your return contains an error that would prevent you from e-filing and offer assistance to correct any errors before you attempt to e-file. However, some returns just can't be e-filed and must be printed and mailed. If that's the case, we'll make it easy by including mailing instructions with your printed return. And we'll also make ugly faces at the computer with you.

What are my payment options?
We accept credit and debit cards (including MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express). You can also choose to have money automatically withdrawn from your checking account (e-check).

We are not offering our Simple Pay product (having the fees for Tango deducted from your refund), Refund Anticipation Check or Refund Anticipation Loans this year. We apologize for any inconvenience.

How do I import my data from TurboTax or TaxCut?
You can import last year's data from TurboTax software or TaxCut software or online products. Once you log in we'll walk you through the steps.

How do I contact customer support?
After you've created an account in Tango, you can reach us at any time by clicking the You Got People icon at the top of the screen. You can reach us by phone, chat or e-mail. And it's included in the price, so don't even think that you're going to be charged extra for it.

How do I check my e-file status?
Once you've e-filed your return, we'll show you your e-file status in the My Tango section. We'll also send you an e-mail when your e-file status changes.

How do I get a copy of my tax return?
Once you've paid for the Tango program, you can view or print a copy of your return any time from the View Return section of the Finish tab.

Which forms aren't covered by Tango?
Tango was developed to cover most tax scenarios. Although this list appears long, each of these situations is relatively uncommon and applied to less than 1% of our TaxCut online customers last year. Can Tango handle the Alternative Minimum Tax law changes?
Unless you need the rather obscure mortgage interest credit (different than the very common mortgage interest itemized deduction) or the D.C. First Time Homebuyer's Credit, then yes, we've got you covered. If you need one of those forms, we recommend that you use TaxCut online.

Does Tango handle the tax rebates of the Economic Stimulus Act?
Yes. Actually, the rebate checks issued through the Economic Stimulus Act won't affect your 2007 tax return. However, you must file a return this year in order to qualify to receive a rebate check. Let's Tango!

Can my computer handle the power of Tango?
We certainly hope so. Tango was developed using a new Web technology. One of the system requirements for running the application is 512 MB of RAM with at least 150 MB available and at least a 1.2 GHz processor.

You can check both the total and available RAM on your PC in three easy steps:
  • Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc (we know that's three keys, but only one step) to access the Windows Task Manager.
  • Click on the Performance tab.
  • Look at the Physical Memory section: That should indicate a TOTAL greater than 512,000, and AVAILABLE greater than 150,000.

To check RAM on your Mac:
  • Go to Applications.
  • Select Utilities, then Activity Monitor.
  • Select System Memory.
  • Look at the Free and Total indicators.

If you are hovering around the minimum RAM, it would probably be a good idea to close any other programs. They will reduce your available memory level. (You can see what other programs are running by clicking on the Applications tab in the Task Manager. But, you must go to the specific application to shut it down.)

  • NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE
    COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit www.fdic.gov.
