Editor’s note:

Kentucky Acknowledgement and Refund Delays from Feb. 26 to March 14

The Kentucky Department of Revenue is undergoing a system replacement from Wednesday, Feb. 26, through Friday, March 15. During this window, you will still be able to e-file Kentucky state returns. However, during this window:

  • Those filing individual returns will continue to receive acceptances/acknowledgments. However, those filing entity returns will not receive an acknowledgement.
  • The Kentucky Department of Revenue will not process refunds or payments. Direct debit payments will not be debited from the client’s bank account until after the pause is lifted.

Normal processing (including processing of returns submitted from Feb. 26 to March 15) will resume following the downtime. The downtime will not impact filing federal returns for Kentucky residents.

To check the status of your Kentucky state refund online, go to https://refund.ky.gov/.

In order to view status information, you will be prompted to enter the following information:

Kentucky refund
